About us

The National Viral Hepatitis Control Program started functioning in the West Bengal in the Financial Year 2019-20 as a sub sect of National Health Mission with its goal to state wide elimination of Hepatitis C by 2030, and reduce the risk, morbidity and mortality due to Hepatitis A and E. The main issue is to significant reduction in the infected population, morbidity and mortality associated with Hepatitis B & C.

Under this National Viral Hepatitis Control Program, districts having at least one Viral Hepatitis Treatment Centre has been started. West Bengal, has 5241Health Wellness centres which can be brought under per view of NVHCP.

19 ART Centres, 31 Blood Banks, 42 Dialysis Centres,38 TI/NGOs,16 CCH/DCH have already been linked to the Service.

HBsAg Screening of Pregnant women and Hepatitis B vaccination of Health Care Workers have also been incorporated upto BPHC level.

Rest of the Link ART Centres, Blood Banks, CCH/ DCH, Migrants, Truckers,Thalassemia units, Screening of PWsupto Sub Centre level, Vaccination of HCWs upto SC level  expected to be covered in future financial year.
